Homework

St Mary's Newport Homework

Teachers regard homework as a very important part of school work for students. Each student is required to have a Student’s Journal. This is used to keep a record of the student’s written and memory homework, and to assist parents in ensuring that their children give the necessary attention to their homework.

First and second year students should have sufficient homework to occupy them for about two hours each night. All other students should have at least three hours work each night.

Homework plays a crucial part in the whole educational process. It helps to solidify close co-operation between school and the home. It also offers each student the opportunity to revise and copper fasten the learning that has taken place during the school day whilst also affording parents/guardians the chance to oversee and take an active involvement in the progress of their child through school.
